1. Who we are

MyJapanStudyPlan.com is operated by Moonlit Creative Limited, a Hong Kong company. For the personal data described in this policy, Moonlit Creative Limited is the data user.

2. Data we collect

We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide and operate the service.

• Your quiz selections, study preferences, budget, education, Japanese level, and career goals.
• Anything you choose to write in optional free-text fields.
• Your email address and messages you send to customer support.
• Order identifiers, payment status, and Stripe transaction references. Card details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout and are not stored by MyJapanStudyPlan.
• Limited device, browser, log, and security information needed to operate and protect the website.

3. Required and optional information

Quiz fields are marked through the form as required or optional. Required answers and an email address are needed to prepare and deliver a report. If you do not provide them, we may not be able to provide the service.

The additional-context question is optional. Please do not include passport numbers, bank information, health records, or other sensitive information that is not necessary for your study recommendations.

4. How we use personal data

• Prepare recommendations and research your city, university, program, professor, cost, and lifestyle fit.
• Complete the human-review process included in your plan.
• Deliver reports, answer questions, and provide customer support.
• Administer payments, refunds, accounting records, and disputes.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents and comply with legal obligations.
• Improve the service using aggregated or anonymized information where reasonably practicable.

5. AI-assisted processing and human review

AI tools may help organize questionnaire responses, compare research, and draft report material. We do not treat AI output as a verified fact. Official sources and human review determine what goes into the final report at the review level included in your plan.

Questionnaire answers may be sent to service providers that assist with report production. We limit that use to providing and improving the service and apply reasonable controls to the providers we select.

6. Service providers and transfers

We may use providers for website hosting, security, payment processing, email delivery, customer support, analytics if introduced, and AI-assisted report production. They may process personal data only for the services they provide to us or as required by law.

Stripe processes checkout and payment information under its own privacy notice. We receive order identifiers, payment status, and transaction references needed to reconcile and fulfill your order, but we do not store your card number.

Some providers may process data outside Hong Kong. We take reasonable steps to select providers with appropriate privacy and security safeguards and to manage their use of personal data through contractual or other controls.

We do not sell personal data. We do not allow a provider to use it for unrelated direct marketing on our behalf.

7. Service messages and marketing

Emails about your quiz, order, report, refund, or support request are service messages.

We will use your personal data for promotional email only after giving you the required information and receiving your separate, informed consent. Completing the quiz or staying silent is not consent. Every promotional message will include a free way to opt out, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

8. Retention and security

We keep identifiable quiz, order, and support data only as long as needed to provide the report, handle support, resolve disputes, meet accounting or legal duties, and protect the service from abuse. We then delete or anonymize it where reasonably practicable.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Access and correction

You may request access to or correction of your personal data by emailing myjapanstudyplan@outlook.com. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and locate the relevant records before responding.

You may also ask whether we still need particular information. We will consider deletion requests subject to legal, accounting, dispute, and security obligations.

10. Users under 18

Users under 18 may browse the site and complete the quiz, but they must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before purchasing a report.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and change the last-updated date. Material changes will be explained through a reasonable notice where appropriate.
